The Claymore - The Blade of Scotland

It was a unique weapon found solely among the clansmen of the Scottish Highlands. Developed in the early Renaissance, the claymore was created during a dynamic transition in military armament. Claymore is a term derived from the Gaelic 'claidheamohmor', meaning “great sword.”

Helix Logos

Fun fact - the current Helix logo package was designed by alumni Jason Klein and Casey White.

THE MUSKET GAME

The historic rival football game between Helix and Grossmont. The winner is presented by ceremony, the musket for the rest of the year.

1956 Helix Class facts: “As part of the traditional rivalry between Helix and Grossmont, the winner of the annual football game between the two schools is presented with the Campbell Musket. This year, the Highlanders emerged victorious and regained the musket which was donated by Sid Campbell in 1951.”
