Candy Greene Helix Class of 1967

What a journey with an incredible man! I recommend this book to people of all ages. Wayne, Helix class of 1969, helps us realize that disability, disappointment, disillusionment, lost, and mistakes are part of life; that we can choose how these affect our quality of life. Perhaps bullies, past and present, will reflect on the depth of injury their actions cause. Students might realize that a wrong academic or career choice made at 17 years old are changeable. People without disabilities will gleam an appreciation of daily challenges a person with a disability experience. They are courageous…as is Wayne for sharing his story. (Wayne passed away in 2024.)
Reggie Bush has his 2005 Heisman Trophy back, as the Heisman Trust announced Wednesday April 24, 2024, the formal "reinstatement" of the trophy to Bush amid what it calls "enormous changes in the college football landscape."
The Heisman Trust's decision comes after Bush forfeited his Heisman Trophy in 2010 in the wake of significant NCAA sanctions for USC, which included Bush receiving improper benefits during a Trojans career that spanned from 2003 to 2005. He will be invited to all future Heisman Trophy events.

Jordan Thompson had been struggling the entire College World Series, and it looked like the same old thing Monday as he strode to the plate in the second inning of the deciding Game 3 between LSU and Florida.

Then the script flipped.

Officials solemnly reflect on La Mesa protest, riot. Community activist Nate Howard speaks at La Mesa’s Day of Remembrance to mark one year since the protests and unrest in the city.

Howard says activists have been learning how to most pragmatically channel their anger, frustration, and pain at racial injustice into meaningful action. “People need to be organized. If you look at a protest- I’ve been to a number of protests and after I say 'What are we doing now?".
About Nate Howard
Most recently, Nate was honored in his hometown of San Diego as the " Young Entrepreneur of the Year." Nate’s belief is that we should focus our activism on education, empowering youth to create change so that the movement is proactive and sustainable.
